About the phone service from verizon. I know exactly what you mean. I have a husband in Afghanastan and we can't even talk to him. We pay verizon $120 a month to have home phone service and internet. Internet so that my daughter and I may communicate with my husband. And everyday it is something different. The only reason I have internet now is because I am at my in-law's using their internet. This is absolutely ridiculous and I wish that something would be done about it. As a military family we struggle to be able to buy ourselves something nice. We can't afford to be wasting money for phone and internet service that we can't even use. Verizon is a joke. And absolutely outrageous!! Something needs to be done!!

I think the media decided who was going to be the nominee for the Dems. when the race started! If that had been Hillary's preacher, and mentor for twenty years, and then said "she didn't even know this man felt like that", we would still be hearing about it in the news! It's not fair how they(media) has boycotted Hillary. Women of this country unite! The men have ran this country long enough, and they have ran it into the GROUND! Time for a change ladies.

Floyd, no you are not alone. It has been obvious for some time the national media and other "elites" have decided Obama is their candidate and to heck with the voters and anyone else who disagrees. He seems to be off-limits to any criticism and woe to anyone who dares to question any of his decisions. Expect to be branded with many labels - not the least of which will be "racist". I only hope that during the campaign this fall someone in the media will investigate him half as much as they do everyone else. The man obviously has issues and the American people deserve to know as much about him as possible, if there are indeed any real things he has done to warrant being president. I am not real impressed with any of the three candidates this year but of one thing I am certain - Barack Hussein Obama would be a disaster as president.

Concerning Beth's question about the weiners......that 8 for the family and 2 for the dog, and the buns? If you buy a 12 pack then that's 2 you can tear up and feed the birds.

I would really appreciate it if WSAZ News would report on the Verizon phone service in the Fort Gay area.It was out for 5 days last week and has been out this week since Sunday.Verizon is telling people everything from"we"ll have it on at 6:00pm today" to "We don't have time to work on it until May 28th".This is ridiculous and Verizon should be exposed for their terrible service.

I've been reading a lot of complaints about our representatives supporting Obama and how they should have supported Hillary instead. I'm sure their decisions were made after much research, consideration & first hand knowledge of what & how things happen in Gov't. We have to trust them to look at every angle and scruitinize each candidate best suited to fill the most important office in our Nation. If each candidate were to list their stance on issues & each rep comment on why they support those ideas, perhaps we might better understand why they are supporting Obama. I personally like both candidates. Together they would be a powerhouse of 'git 'er done. I applaud our reps for taking the high road. Doing what you know to be right is not always an easy thing - especially if the majority seems to think otherwise. There is a good reason for their choice, although we may not understand or appreciate it right now.

Posted by: Beth on May 21, 2008 at 09:43 PM
I was just curious about why you can buy 10 hot do weiners in a package but, you can only purchase 8 or 12 hot dog buns. You either get too many buns or not enough, Only in America makes no sense wonder if Obama will change the regulation on that?

After giving it much thought I now understand why Sen. Byrd, Rockefeller and all the others are supporting Obama....it's because they are really in favor of John McCain. They know he can beat Obama but not Hillary.....and they do not want her or her husband in the White House.

Voter, you think I have my head in the sand? Evidently, that is a far better place than you have yours if you feel you are SAFE, relating that to no more terrorist attacks. Our borders are OPEN; we import TAINTED/DEADLY medications, food, products from foreign countries across the globe, NO INSPECTIONS. Bush administration supported control of our ports by United Arab Emirates, yet you degrade Obama in seeking diplomacy in the Middle East by talking. There is no American pride in invading countries, inhumane treatment of others, invading the privacy of our citizens, decreasing taxes for the wealthy, keeping the poor destitute, egotistical pompous bullying behavior, or running around the country singing, "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran." McCain has supported Bush for eight years, and our country is in dire straits. You support the very ones who are willing to continue giving your country away economically. Terrorism is under your nose while greed runs rampant. Deplorable!

WHY HAS NOTHING MORE BEEN REPORTED ON HOW GOV. JOE MESSED OVER THE TEACHERS RETIREMENT. HIS FRIEND AT WVU WILL GET A NICE PACKAGE FOR SURE . WATCH FOR JOE TO TRY TO SLIP INTO BYRD'S PLACE . THE NATIONAL MEDIA LIKES TO PROTRAY WEST VIRGINIA AS POOR & UNDER EDUCATED . WITH OUR RESOURSES IN THIS STATE I BLAME OUR ELECTED REPS. ON THE SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS , YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR .GOV. JOE LOVES TO GET ON TV AND PROCLAIM NEW JOBS OF 10 OR 12 DOLLARS AN HOUR . TELL HIM TO LIVE ON THAT OR LESS . WE NEED JOBS THAT PEOPLE CAN RAISE A FAMILY ON . IT,S TIME FOR NEW BLOOD , NOT OLD POLICICAL FAMILIES FROM BOTH PARTIES .

It has been a little while since I have been on WSAZ's website and this last visit has been disappointing to say the least. There is so much information, a lot unnecessary, that you cannot find what it is you are looking for. I wanted to email Tony and the only website i could find was the main one for wsaz even though it stated there was a listing. I wanted to obtain a copy of a picture submitted by a viewer regarding a rainbow on April 29th and it has been a nightmare trying to get that information to buy or get the picture. The WSAZ website is very user unfriendly which it did not used to be and this MyCapture website seems to be geared for businesses rather than the consumer. Personally, if I want to speak with Tony, for example, it should be easily accessible to me and if I want to purchase a copy of a picture submitted by a viewer, there should be directions plainly placed on the website for that as well. I am very disappointed in this last visit to your website. Thank You.

To CJ, You need to get your head out of the sand. Yes we remember 9/11, and if Obama gets elected we will see more terrorist attacks. Those in the Middle East would love to see Obama as our next President, so they can just come in the front door and bomb us. I would rather pay high gas prices and feel safe than the alternative. John McCain is the only choice to keep our country safe.

Am I the only one who thinks the media and the powers that be in this country have practically crowned Prince Obama "the King of the world?" I am a die-hard democrat and will vote for the nominee, but even I can see that Obama is unelectable in November. America deserves better than any of these candidates!

Gas in Saudi Arabia 45 cents a gallon. Gas in USA $4.00 a gallon. Remember 9/11? Pilots of aircraft of Saudi origin. All Saudi's and Bin Laden family given safe flight from country. Bush asks Saudi's for help with gas prices. Saudi's reply, NO WAY. We need change! Fact is, Byrd and Rockefeller know that across this country, Obama has secured the majority of popular and delegate votes. Perhaps their goal is to bring unity to the Democratic party to provide the necessary change our country needs. Four more years of the Bush policies through McCain will bring total demise to this great land we all so love. Put away your bitterness and unite for change!

a barrel of oil coming out the middle east is actually 42 gallons.... that 42 gallons yields approx. 19 gallons of gasoline..... after refining ...the balance goes to making plastics and other related consumer products.

After the results of the primary, I feel that the people of WV spoke loudly about their choice of who they want to represent them from the Democratic party. Today I see that Sen. Byrd along with Sen. Rockefeller among others has endorsed Sen. Obama. This shows me that those we have chosen to represent us do not care what the people of this state want and need. I always believed they put our interests first and strived to help us.....they are only out to benefit themselves.

Hillary Clinton won the state of WV last week in the primary. It is a shame that all of our Senators and Reps. cannot abide by our states wishes and endorse her and not Barack Obama....maybe we should remove our Sen. and Reps from office in Nov.!!!!

The stimulas payment checks from the government are not as high as you think. I think the government just gives you what they think you should have. I know people that have gotten way more than what I'm getting and then other people are getting way less than what I'm getting. I like the money don't get me wrong but I think the people that needs it worse are getting the shaft on it and other people are getting the good end of the deal. The government should be more concerned with the people with alot less income rather than the ones you have plenty. There is some people out there that need this money. They worry about how they are going to live from one paycheck to the next and they're the ones I think getting cheated on the stimulas checks. the people that don't worry like this are getting way to much on the stimulas checks. People need to wake up and realize what the world is coming to...

Its' a shame that the gasprices are still going up. I think someone is able to do something about it if they wanted to. Think about it some people won't even be able to afford to go to work and if they do go to work they'll just be working for gas money. I think it's crazy and they could do something about it if they wanted to. This is hurting businesses among other things. Befire you know it people will be riding horses to work, riding bikes or even walking and I think it's stupid. The price of the barrells of gas can be lowered if they wanted to.

The Healing Place in Huntington is trying to find property to establish a facility in Huntington similar to the one in Louisville, Ky. Would you want a facility like this in your neighborhood? These are drug addicts and alcoholics some from the homeless community. These people do need help, but they should be in a residential situation where they can receive the help needed. Not out wandering the streets in groups. Going to meetings in groups and walking all over town. They should have classes and AA meetings at the facilities not at a distant location where the clients need to get out on the street and walk. If all meetings can not be on site, a van or bus or some type of transportation should be provided. Huntington does need more facilities for homeless and addicts. Not sure about combining them. The addiction facilities in the area have waiting lists. The 7 day programs are of little use. Alcoholics can stay there a week walk out and go around the corner and get drunk. Any opinions?
