Brenda, I don't know about WSAZ or anyone else, but I haven't heard anything about this parade. Where was it? West Virgina isn't huge, but it's a decent sized area. Was there any publicity sent out to any of the media, any of the news stations or radio stations or newspapers? The media can't report on what they don't know about. I for one am all for gay rights, equality, and so on, but don't start crying the victim every little whipstitch because no one is focusing on you or your cause. PLENTY of worthwhile causes are overlooked, every day. Thats part of being treated equal, being equally overlooked.

they did find the missing elderly couple up around the cabwaylingo park area. they had apparently just driven there the day they disappeared. the car was in a wooded area. it had been driven out a trail and just parked. they were found with all their belongings laying not far from the car. so sad. my heart goes out to the family. i helped search for them up around the east lynn area but of course we didn't find them.

Today (6/6/08) at Man, WV, temperatures hit a high of almost eighty degrees...within the confines of Man Central K-8 School. The climate control in the building went haywire (again) and it quickly became hot and humid. With those kinds of conditions, it's hard to see how the Board of Education allowed classes to continue.

For Perry........ This column is called "The Yell, Let Off Some Steam". Their is a place for comments on stories at the bottom of each one. Concerning "trailers", "manufactured homes" and such, I was born up a holler and since they were towed in on wheels and the wheels usually remained under them, we called them "mobile homes". If I remember right, isn't that why that business up past Campbells Creek used to be called "Smith & Jones Mobile Homes"?

WSAZ,Why have the "submit your comment for approval" bar if the comments submitted contain nonsense or vulgarity such as "Don's" or some of the comments referring to Dick Cheney.Children read this as well as people who do not wish to read the tabloid trash that is being submitted.Your general manager needs to clean this up, only allow comments to the stories and if all these other people who are critical of the spelling or opinionated on the story,do a segment on how to create their own Myspace page!

To WSAZ I don't have much time to watch the news anymore, & have even slacked off of reading the news here on the "web channel" (LOL) Seriously though, I was just wondering if the old married couple that is missing from Ohio, via Wayne co, was ever found. I remember something a little while back being stated that bodies were discovered, but I never found out if it was them. To the family of the couple, I pray for you all. God bless.

please advise your anchor crew or writers that it is not a trailer, it is someones home. this am your story talked about the high waters trapping a family in thier trailer, your news crew does this all the time, when a home goes up in flames -vs- you always use the word trailer not the families home, you guys are not above the families that purchased manufactured housing

I am so happy students and others who probably pay less user tax and little or no property tax will have nice benches under shade trees to use their lap tops. While I who do pay taxes sit in a neighborhood surrounded by pot holed strets, lined with abandoned houses, uneven side walks, dying trees and alleys filled with trash. I did find it appalling that the Vice President referred to West Virginians as inbred as I am your neighbor, a Kentuckian, an American. West Virginians helped to put Cheney in office, looks like they might help to assist McCain in his run, and the Vice President's comment evidently went right over your head. If you think you are better off for living through the past eight years with Bush, West Virginia must surely be prospering. There must be no unemployment there, people must be treated equally, your children must not be serving in Iraq, education must be superb, everyone must have health insurance with equal medical care, and your economy must be booming! Surely, I have missed something living in Kentucky, as I found the comment, the sarcasm, and the laughter of Cheney to be repulsive, but maybe it was only something that we would find deplorable in Kentucky.

Someone must have pushed the Homer Simpson "DUH" button in Nitro again. Seems the people have successfully re-elected their "I didn't know about it" Mayor. OK. Lets give Rusty Casto another term and a chance to do something. Yeah, he is a good guy and lots of lessons hopefully have been learned by the failures of the past. I've lived in Nitro for 13 years & we have a wonderful town with lots of potential. We've got the best police, best firemen & garbage men who really care about our community. Congrats Rusty. I'm glad you & the re-elected council will have a chance to redeem yourselves and really make a difference. We will be watching and praying for your administration.

I just wanted to comment about the Articles that been in the news about the Mayor of Huntington getting the large raise in Salary..I feel that is ok if the Streets of Huntington were Paved properly and there were not Pot Holes big enough to actually blow a Tire witch actually happened to me..So just want to say that I feel the City and the Council needs to look at where the Money should go instead of Paying out more to the ones that already are receiving a large Salary..Thanks,,Gary Walker

I don't think that our wonderful vp really intended on the joke being on him. However, he has made himself look more horrible than WV. As for the ill effects of his comment, everyone thinks it but no one ever does anything about it. In all honesty, there are many days that I regret living in such an idiotic, low intelligent, want something for nothing, high poverty state. But in the almighty scheme of things, I love WV because life doesn't always have to be in the fast lane and the scenic beauty is the greatest attribute! People need to realize that life is never a bowl of cherries and other states have comparison made about them. A sense of humor would be many peoples greatest strength if ever they found one. Besides if you live outside of Boone, Logan, Lincoln, Mingo, etc.... lots of fun gets poked at them... If you live in a "holler" it is even worse. Life goes on and the adage of sticks and stones should be an important rule taught in school. It will be ok...

Hello West Virginians from Kentucky. We are the heartland of this great nation, and we should be viewed as such. Did you not hear how your Vice President who represents the Bush/McCain supporters refers to ALL of you? Now he is claiming to be sorry for his remark, but he knew darn good and well that he was insinuating that all of you were inbred or he would not have added at the end of his statement that he did not really have to worry any more about what he said as he was not running for re-election. The true colors of the Republican Party are displayed for the world to see, and I suggest you embrace Senator Byrd and Senator Rockefeller as they endeavor to correct the injustices the American people have experienced the past eight years. Our country desperately needs to resume the path of equality for all people, a peace loving nation, and one which assists the needy, not rewarding the wealthy. I find nothing American about a leader who speaks with such contempt for its people.

If Don isn't on Disability, he's either had a stroke or a TBI or he put in his 20 years in the military and now sits back high and mighty like he perceived himself in his glory days when he was head of the mess hall.
