IP I agree people dont take their vows seriously but neither is staying married for the children that just causes more problems and degrades the unity of marriage even more. You dont stay married becasue of kids you stay married becasue you love the other person and want to be with them.

The only way I can see to solve the child support problem, is don't get divorced until the child reaches 18. Unless you are in an abusive relationship, just deal with it. I know the parents in our generation did that. A lot of my friend's parents waited to split up after they went to college. The generation before stayed married until a spouse died. If married couples took their vows seriously there wouldn't be child support issues.

I had to take a trip to Princeton over the weekend to retrieve my father in law's cremains. I could not believe how many gas guzzling SUVs were at the Tamarack rest area. I guess 4.00 a gallon gasoline does not affect the ultra rich from their vacations.

the point was that in this situation the best person to raise the child was not granted the opportunity. My husband and I are far from perfect but we both do not use drugs, alcohol, etc. We don't go to the hospital with fake illnesses nor do we beat each other or our children. We raise our children to the best of our ability. So Gary, here are your lumps, don't spout off about something that you have no idea and don't understand. Taxes will be offset for back support however, they can not take more than you are obligated to pay. So if you don't have enough sense to understand the post, you may want to drop out off the conversation. My husband is an excellent father and we support our children without assistance from anyone. But it angers me immensely that a system is as screwed up as child support. The lady I spoke with talked to me like an ignorant piece of crap. I am not and have a degree and high IQ to prove it.

I have been in communication with child support, as well as my stepson's mother. She has not and doesn't receive any help from the government. She makes good money, her new husband makes good money. They aren't on any assistance program at all. I, myself, pay my stepson's medical insurance and have since the decision was made. I take care of this child daily and do have him at least 70-75% of the time. I buy his clothes, shoes, food, and everything else. I take him on vacation and to ball practice. I didn't file injured spouse to let the balance be paid. The point of the original posts were that the system is messed up. If the balance is one amount then that is the amount. I should receive back the excess that they stole to take care of our children. The problem is not with paying her the child support, the judge ordered it so fine, she gets it. But the problem is with the judge not really caring about the situation. If a mother chooses to live on welfare then she may not b

Same sex marriage is just downright sick. And yes you sickos are pushing it on the normal people. When you start asking for legalization, and adoption of children that means you are pushing. Stop pushing and stay in the closet. And yes children will pay a price because as all kids do they will ask why those two are hugging, kissing, etc. It simply is not normal. You guys say love is all a person needs. If that is the case then why does love not get the abusive relationships through their hard times. ITS BECAUSE IT IS NOT NORMAL. So gays cut it out and quit pushing your mental illness on everybody. There are many mental illnesses out there that are not sent to be voted on so why should you guys be special. I took my daughter to jr. church camp Sun. June 15th, in Minford, Oh. We when we got there it was more mixed up than expected because somebody or bodies had come on to the grounds and took some of the electric wiring from the girls cabins for the copper. I think it is just sad that people will do this in the first place. But to go onto a church camp and steal is just downright pathetic. Yes, they got it fixed. But to do this is sad.

Everyone has a fantasy..... I would like to see business owners that smoke take their employees that smoke on long breaks outside and let them enjoy themselves while the non-smokers stay inside and work. Let them have a normal 5 to 10 minute break here and there but let the smokers know that they are humans and not animals and will not be treated as such. As far as smoking goes I don't, I won't, but I think it's a shame to to treat smokers like crap.....they are still humans no matter what.

OH SOPHIE..I have no problem letting men/men women/women be together as long as it doesnt hurt or bother anyone else. When thre is innocent children at sake that these people do not think of , then there is a problem. Also when someones "partner" wants me to pay for their HIV medication becasue they dont have insurance but they love there boyfriend realy well. Then we have a problem.

To those who don't understand the Gay Pride issue; As long as there is intolerance & discrimination, people need to take a stand. These are HUMANS and HUMANS have hearts. Those same hearts break whenever relationships fail. Is their LOVE not as deep for each other as my LOVE for my husband? I know what the Bible says, so don't go there. God will judge us all, not Judge Judy. I cannot force my belief on someone by telling them they can't love a person of their own sex. They should have the same rights as marrieds, be taxed accordingly and also get divorces. The same rules should apply. Sanctity of marriage? I thought that Love made a marriage and the law be separate from the church. Let the ones without sin be the first to throw stones. I might not love what my neighbor does, but I respect him as he respects me. Are there not more pressing issues in this world than keeping people from making legal committments to one another in the name of LOVE?

There are some things in life that make me wonder what the gov is doing with our money. I dont pay child support, or get it. My sister does. Her ex husband will show her the reciepts from where he paid his support to Putnam county. She will call them when its 2 weeks late, and they will tell her that its not there. She has the proof in her hands that it is. She tells them this, and they say "Oh sorry, there it is...We will send this out next week" Next week comes and goes...No Money. So now, there is over 4 checks there to be sent to her. And noone sends it to her. They took his tax money too, but it goes to the state, not the kids. How is that legal. Child support is a joke, and I hope and pray that I dont have to deal with these people. They take the extra money for themselves. I dont know where they put it, but I know that my neice and nephew dont get it. If her hubby was behind in his payments he would be in jail, so shouldnt they be held in contempt for not sending it.

ARi,,, I know i have to pay it-I am far from stupid... The point of the post is the balance was one amount and the took almost $600 more. That is highway robbery. My back child support was paid off with an overpayment. The local office won't do anything but scream at me and my wife for trying to figure out what happens to the excess and how we get it back. My son stays with me over 70% of the time and we don't have custody. We buy his clothes, food, needs and wants. And we still pay child support. I am only asking how to fix this problem because in essence they stole money from us. If a person only owes lets say 1600 then that should be the amount taken. The shouldn't be able to take a check worth a great deal more than that. That would be like the bank saying, hey your house payment is 500 this month, we will only accept your entire paycheck. I have alwayse provided support for my child and always will. But the system is taking advantage of people and thats not fair.

I am absolutely sick and tired of the Child support enforcement agency. This agency is wacked. I pay child support for my child through my paycheck. I lost my job for a while and couldn't afford to pay. Now I am behind over two thousand dollars. IN the last few months I found another job, child support started coming out when i did. Now i have a letter to appear in court because they say i owe them back support. The problem... they took over three thousand dollars of my federal tax return. Yep you guessed it, i paid alot more than i owed. Not to mention that the amount they are taking from my check is a great deal more than what I owe each month. They are going to make me sell my assests and put a lien on my house. All of this when the debt is already paid. They don't return phone calls and are a$$#S when you call. I have my child over 70% of the time cause the mother is worried about herself. Judge says too bad, don't want to hear it. Putnam County DHHR is a joke.

While I'm happy the festival went off without a problem, this kind of publicity will only invite hatred and bigotry not only like what you got, but it will send some hatred that way next year for Pride. I have never seen such homophobic comments. Seriously, I'm straight but I dont see gay people as nasty filthy diseased or worth less as human beings than I am. There are gay people everywhere in WV even in the rural areas-they could be your doctor, your teacher, your truck drivers, anyone. They could be your kid's best friend. I know a lot of straight married couples who appear to be the pillars of society but in truth they are downright sleaze freaks. Before you start throwing stones at others why don't you take inventory of your own selves and work on improving that which is within the realm of your own influence.

Obviously the number of people who care about the "pride" festivities is less than those who don't care. Why should your immorality be plastered all over the television, especially in West Virginia. Most people in West Virginia are not as forgiving or as accepting as you wish they would be. If news stations displayed extensive coverage of such events, they would lose thousands of viewers.

Hey Jade, This is the 12th year for this June Pride Celebration in Charleston. The word was out , but we were ignored. If the so called christians bigots had been around to harrass us this would have been on the TV, in the paper and radio. Since we had a wondeful day of peaceful celebrating we were not news. Others who have celebrations for whatever reasons gets lots of coverage. I am a member of this state and community. You don't have to like me, or love me but I will demand to be respected.
