As for smoking, I don't anymore. But! I did for 30 years, was born into a smoking family, have been around smoking all my life, wife smokes, son smokes, several c-workers smoked....why then did the Dr. say I have a set of the cleanest lungs he has ever seen? In response to your post from 7/12 @ 1:07pm concerning the pooper scooper returning the goods to the rightful owner. It may seem mean of that man but I must say it is maddening to have somebodies cats tearing up your flowers. Some plants are quite expensive and its not fair to have them uprooted everyday. I am battling the exact same problem right now and I'm about to do the same thing. I don't have cats therefore I should not have to clean up after the pests. You mentioned something about setting outside to read, well try it sometime when your house has been sprayed by multiple male cats marking their territory. It is an offensive odor and I do not like it. I wish there was a leash law for cats like they have in Dunbar. Not only do they use my yard as a litter box, they get in the trash on trash day, climb on the cars and scratch the paint and they run around unvaccinated and reproducing twice a year for more cats to be roaming the neighborhood. Mean? I'm ready to get mean.

I find it interesting that Deisel Fuel is higher than Gasoline.. Isn't deisel a by product.. Less cost to produce! Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Auto Co. spit out all these big deisel vehichles and BAM.. OIL crisis.. Smells like FUMes to me! I for one do not care to see Big Auto companies are going bankrupt. They need to learn to live on a budget like everyone else and stop paying the CEO's Millions of profit $$.. There is No person that smart and no one man deserves that kind of BONUS checks...What is it going to take for America to see that Big business is the cause of our Recession? To poor little yo joe mama... offer it up, in what precious state do you leave? I want to move there. I am all for losing 70 lbs and raising my children where no one is related to them. I think moving away from family would be wonderful. Goodness, I might be able to get some dental work completed, maybe a nose job, and a tummy tuck... I certainly would need to make sure that I fit in with you and 100% of your neighbors. I definitely need to have the cosmetic surgery completed and become a vegetarian. I may need to start hugging trees and put my husband out of business. Oh, and i definitely need to stop shopping at the dollar general and family dollar. Oh is a bachelors degree enough or do I need a masters to be accepted into your subdivision. The thought of neighbors seeing everything I do really makes me excited. I guess I better trade in my four wheel drive for a sportscar so I can get the same gas mileage and not drive in winter. Can I bring my dogs-all ten of them?

According to this, the moon is a light source just like the sun, only not as bright. If this was the case, we couldn't land on the moon, it would be too hot. It is also strange that it took God the day to make the sun and the moon, but the stars are portrayed as an afterthought of sorts. "He made the stars also", this is a definite sign that the Bible is inspired by man. It is clear that man could not have perceived that the stars were the same as the sun, but in most cases much larger. Naturally they thought that these specks were just thrown about. The verse should read "God created the stars and planetary objects, he also made the earth, sun, and moon". But man, in those days, would have never seen it that way.

If we all had college degrees, were 10 pds. underweight and no one in the past 200 years had married a remote relative, do you think that would change the prejudicial venom that has been spread about our State for so many years? Come on - there is some negative statistic you could harp about for every State. You seem like an intelligent person who possibly may have something constructive to say. Why not say positive words to encourage people instead of putting them down? There are more important issues facing America today than debating the statistics over obesity. What are your views on politics? The War? Homelessness? Our Veterans? Bank Failures? Jobs? Pollution? College Tuition? Global warming? Honeybees? The cost of a gal. of milk vs. gas? Foreign policy? Alternative fuels? Surly something more interesting & intense than picking on us fat & happy people.

Why do teachers get so upset about drug testing? The students will have to. Most professionals have to submit to drug testing at the time of their hire and at random. Maybe they are afraid the test will detect ELEVATED VIAGRA levels some of them must be taking to keep up with their "classroom romances." If you have nothing to fear just do the drug test and get on with your life.

I think I will address my admirers in chronological order. LIB, I am not too ignorant to understand that percentages indicate the number is based on the population of the state. The issue I was raising is 2 out of every 3 people in your state are obese! Also, I have no specific beef with WV. My issue is with the uneducated image people from your sate portray to the rest of the world. Now on to my dearest WVSoccerMom, I do not think I ever questioned the ancestry of any of the people in your state. The word obese means fat. It does not mean inbred. Finally, Ray you have raised valid semantic arguments against my posts; however, I have yet to see any arguments that address the issues I have pointed out. I hope you mouth breathers enjoy the local county fairs this summer. Make sure you got out and support the prize hogs and fair queens. I bet they could be the same person in your state.

Does anyone know anything about a field for Marshall Baseball? I feel so sorry for these boys not having a home field on campus like everyone else. Maybe they should use some of that Massey money for it…or even start a campaign to ask citizens, fans, faculty and alumni for whatever they can donate. These boys are doing the right things on and off the field and do not seem to get what they deserve.

I was at Chas Town Center last night and encountered a scuffle between a group of teens & the mall police. Apparently one of the teens were being cited for shop lifting or some other infraction. The teens were shouting obscenities at the officers, getting right up in his face, clenching their fists like they were going to punch him. As many times as I've been to the mall, I have not seen such frightening behavior. Being near an exit, I promptly headed out and held the door open for a police officer who was just arriving. I know this was minor compared to other inccidents that have occurred at the Mall,and it could happen anywhere. I remember seeing Chip Nowling when he was on patrol in the mall... he didn't put up with any crap. If that girl would have gotten up in his face, she would have been on the ground and cuffed. And I would have applauded. Sadly, it will be awhile before I shop at the mall again.

I was watching the News clip about the Drunk driver that killed the man. I think DUI is a crime and I do not uphold driving under the influence. But the consumption level is stupid! One beer and your drunk? That is Crazy! I am certain this young man did not hit these people on purpose and I do not think this young mans life should be spent in Jail for Manslaughter (Murder). Too many people drink and too many people get by with it. It is clear this man feels remorse. I am positive he will suffer for the rest of his life for his actions. I think instead of Jail he needs rehabilitation. This is not your typical drunk it is obvious. I do not think this man killed this man on purpose and yes he was drinking (How much) and was he clearly drunk or right @ the legal limit? I do not drink by the way, and I think accidents just happen. I feel very sorry for the victims family. Loss is very sad. I would be angry if this were my loved one. But perhaps it was an accident.
