Don, Tina is right about why we call it the First Forecast. It's the first forecast to air during each seperate newscast, hence the name FIRST FORECAST. You owe her an apology. Please try to be more tactful.

This comment is about bicycle safety. I work at the state capitol in charleston, w.va. I got off at 4:00 pm. Going home I had to stop someplace. going home I went past the clay center in charleston. As I was going past a little turnoff, some lady barreled forward without seeing if it was safe. Well before I was able to put the brakes on real fast, she ran into the back of my bike, destroying the rear rim. I live at least 9 miles from work. I'm on my feet 8 hours a day. So I then had to walk home. Already dead on my feet, I was in no condition to take on such a distance, but I did. Why can't people watch what they are doing? I couldn't even get to the store to do my grocery shopping because my bike is my transportation.

I was asking WSAZ why they didn't cover it, not you. I see to much coverage about crazy straws, and other crap. If the cops would do something, and the news would show what happened maybe drug dealers would not be so quick to do what they do. I too like to see stories about the good in the world but I also want to be kept informed about everything else. I would just like to know who chooses what "trumps" what.

Posted by: To:Too Much Crime Too Little time on Aug 4, 2008 at 11:31 PM on Aug 5, 2008 at 08:14 AM But still they see fit to report on the death of a dog, or the cruelty to another. I was just wondering why it was never mentioned. Get over yourself is that rhetorical enough for you. ********Hmmm I think maybe extreme cruelty to animals and children might trump drug bust (since there seems to be one everyday) and perhap's you might want to look up what the word 'rethorical means'..I'll help you..rethorical means asking a question you already know the answer too! And I was being a tad bit scarcatis, considering all the drugs in the area and the drug raids, I'm sure its hard for them to keep up with. Personally I'd love to see stories about people helping people, but those stories can't get on due to the fact there's too many people causing bodily harm and murder lately..my point was maybe if law enforcement would do their jobs, before the fact, we wouldn't b argueing over no coverage after the fact! My YELL was for why the St Police would let someone reportedly going to cause harm to themselves or a child let the man just 'carry on' in that state of mind, w/o even taking the shotgun from him! BTW an update..the man did it again..and thank god they finally removed the child from the home! Luckily no one was killed 'this time' before the St. Police got their ducks in a row! BTW you asked the question..sorry if you didn't like the answer.

I saw where sitel was offer to pay bus passes for perfect attendance what a joke they havent raised new hire wages since 2000 and tie so called incentives into bonuses which are unlikely to be reached on a consistant level as far as attendance goes if you're 2 minutes late in a 2wk period or you miss any saturday hrs guess what the other 99.9% youve put in means nothing. The facility mngr at sitel bragged on his 250% turnover rate of employees once the lies are figured out people leave and more gullible people replace them meaning very few become eligable for benefits. Don't believe me just talk to anyone thats ever worked for them. I can count less than a dozen thats been there more than 2yrs. They also brag that no one collects unemployement from sitel. I got out but I can tell you the telemarketing business in huntington is very shady to say the least. I'd like to know how many actually collect on the policies sold by sitel.

When I went to school, we didn't get to go anywhere on field trips, and if there was an occassional one, we went for learning purposes, what is this about Kings Island, what learning experience is there to going here, to me it would teach them the purpose of wasting gas, I never went to Kings Island until I graduated High School. These kids have it to easy, and so do the teachers, how about teaching in the CLASSROOM, not out in the public where we have to baby sit your children. There is No parents anymore. I suggest if they want to raise taxes, do it for the ones that have the children in the school system, I don't vote YES anymore for the school levy, for this reason. We need to clean house and get Kanawha Co another bunch of no gooders.....

I would like to know when the price for oil goes up within a few hours price at the pump goes up, when the price for oil goes down it takes a month because the retailer has already paid a higher price, it seems as though it would work both ways

For Don, the reason they censor your comments is because all you do is repeat the same obsessive thing. The reason why they call it the "First Forecast" is because it's the FIRST FORECAST delivered in each seperate newscast. Please stop posting obsessive-compulsive comments about it. I just gave you the explanation so please give all of us a much needed break.

I was influenced to fight a kid my age by older kids when I was young. It was stupid then and would be stupid now! No wonder the human heart doesn't have enough love in it as Christ commands us to have. We allow ourselves or lead others to fill it with hate and anger. Pre-teens and teens can only act on what they have seen or been taught to respond when violence or fear is bound to appear. Start showing resistance and shortness when your temper gets hot. Try and laugh off a stressful or unfortunate act done toward you and hopefully someone sees that from you and follows that action you chose than to create more hate for more to learn from.

Notice that the price of a barrel of crude is down AGAIN. Notice the states around us that have 3.66 price per gallon. The gas tax in the state of WV is killing us. They say we have surplus and they should use that on the roads and cut our gas tax for a while. Not our lawmakers, they are thinking up other stupid ways to spend that surplus. Armstead is the only one with any common sense. Please get out in Nov and vote these clowns out!

Posted by: Wondering on Aug 4, 2008 at 12:45 PM Why is there no coverage on the drug bust at Forest Heights Apartments in Catlettsburg? Is that a rhetorical question? Maybe because there's been so many murders going on in Huntington/Cabell County..too many drug bust,2 little time! At least WSAZ is doing their part during the fuel crisis. They don't have to go far lately to cover just about any crime! I seriously miss Sheriff Fields! He and his deputies put a stop to this madness before it got out of hand. Just today I spoke w/ a Dep.Sherriff that KNEW the person standing down the street had a warrant out on him and when I asked if he was going to go over and arrest him he said, Nah,someone else will get him later! UNREAL! Even in our neighborhood, there was a report of a man holding his child locked in a bedroom w/ a gun to his head. When they responded they saw the man walking down the road WITH THE SHOTGUN n when they asked him what he was doing he stated'it was all a misunderstanding and continued to let him keep walking down the road with the shotgun still in hand! So stay tuned! I see another horrible crime in Cabell County just waiting to be reported...amazing!

I agree with ari if you give a child up you need to leave the child and the parents alone there should be laws to protect the child and the adoptive parents in the long run if you dont you are going to have a messed up kid.

I don't have a problem w/ drug testing as long as the specimen is handled by appropriate personnel. It should not be taking place in a locker room, it should be done at a lab by experienced technicians. Strict rules apply for drug testing and I think it should be handled by someone that has experience in a sterile environment. There's less chance for mix ups that way which could lead to false results and contamination. I also think the testing should also include the personnel that is teaching these students and not only the students that play sports but all students. The way I see it, that's segregation, discrimination of sorts. One specific group of students should not be targeted for testing. Just some food for thought.

If you give your baby up for adoption there is no way on eath you should be able to have contact with that child. It is outrageous that people give these babies up for adoption but still see the child, spend time with the kid...Crazy
