Well.....What if drug companies were forced to lower their prices. Compare Keppra 1000 mg x 60, through my company, I get a great discount it is "ONLY" $344.00 PER MONTH. I had surgey got a script for Loratab 1000 mg x 50 I PAID $21.00. SOMETHING IS BAD WRONG WITH THAT! I wish I could get my regular meds for $21.00. That is exactly why people that work in health care are able to steal theirselves perscriptions for junk like loratab. Do you honestly think if loratab costs {at a dicount price} $344.00, people would be stealing scripts off their employers? I think pill companies keep it cheap for a reason. Perhaps it is their main revenue.

Well hello there Graydon. We just view charity differnetly; the old proverb about giving a fish versus teaching how to fish applies. What we have to look at is results, not warm fuzzy feelings. Your way works nowhere in the world never has, never will. When rich liberals have the choice they always come here for medical care, they dont go to Canada or England. Case closed, no more need be said, the proof is with the rich liberals and their actions. The point about Judiasm is simple. Our country has many good things to offer the Muslim world, look how they live, in the stone ages. O goes abroad and says their culture is the best, such baloney. Our culture is based on Judeo-Christian values, once again look at results. I saw an article that said he is now on the board of directors of Bob Evans Restuarants and farms after he got run off from a local coal company by these hippie and PETA types. Well you longhairs should really love it now because Mr. Bob Evans and his farm brings us some of the worlds best bacon sausage and eggs so there. There was no listing of what he is going to get out of this deal but I wager it will be several herds of each that is goats cows pigs sheep etc.. enough to rival what Job ended up with when he was through giving he devil what for in that story. After taking the coupon for the change from analog to digital and adding 25 more dollars to it and getting the box- couldn't get any channels or signal- took the box back and got a better version only to find out- no channels, no signal. got several channels, very clearly on analog, so where's the improvement?

Yes babies with birth defects are special and it takes special people to nurture them,love them, and help them live as normal a life as they can. They are specail gifts from God to bless all who come in contact with them. All they ask is to be loved and accepted as they are. They aren't selfish, in love with themelves and their needs or wants,spiteful or disrespectful. Oh all kids aren't like that, thankgoodness. Some are taught better. God looks at our hearts not how we look or what color we are. None of us are perfect and we all have defects of some kind even though we may think we don't and we can't see most of them. I have dandelions and violets in my yard. Some people get rid of them because they call them weeds and ruin the looks of their yard. I enjoy the beauty of them and call them flowers. How do you view children and adults with defects? Flowers or weeds? Are you so perfect that when people interact with you they don't see your imperfections you think are hidden?

Insurance companies are already putting people on waiting lists, limiting access to care, denying access to treatments, denying drugs and tests ordered by physicians, and denying patients the option of seeing physicians they choose. I would rather pay less for health insurance and allow my government, rather than a for-profit health insurance company, to operate a health care system. Canadian and European systems are far better than the American system of health care. You will find stories attempting to paint other nations' health care systems as inadequate and even horrifying; however, our system has far more horror stories than other nations. In our country, you simply have no options for health care if you have no insurance. People with severe illnesses have to sell or lose everything they have worked their lives for in order to try to help pay for the care they must have to survive. U.S. health care nightmare stories are everywhere. You have to be willing to read or listen to them.

Ari is very much right. God doesn't make mistakes. If a baby is born with defects, it's more than likely the sin of the parents that caused it. Drinking while pregnant, taking medications or even doing drugs. Most medicines if you read the fine print or do some research on them they will tell you they cause birth defects or do not take if you're pregnant. I know a lot of people who drink while pregnant. Thank God my ex. had enough sense to not take med. while pregnant and even stopped anything with caffeine in it. Look at all the medicines that people take 20 years from now they will tell you that the same ones will kill you or cause you great harm. Seen on t.v. that the side effects from some med. will give you cancer. Three things cause cancer-chemicals, radiation, and irritation. God gave everyone a brain to make the right choices, some would rather not use theirs.

An interesting week here on the Yell. Much food for thought for many. My post about world religions was a bit sneaky, however. My point was that our nation may have bitten off a bit much with its war on terrorism. The truth is Christianity is indeed the largest religion worldwide, with 2.1 billion in some form or another. I was wondering however, how many from other nations would join a crusade if things came to that extreme? Peace is the path best taken by civilized nations, no matter what belief system.

I saw an article that had some great information. Did you all know that there have been 165 Nobel Prize winners in the Jewish population, 51 for medicine, 45 for physics, 27 for chemistry, 22 for economics, 11 for literature and 9 for peace. In contrast, from the Arab world there have been 1 each for chemistry, physics, and literature. The reason any of this matters is the foolishness Obama says when he goes overseas and tells the world how great Muslim culture is and how much it means to the world, while essentially flipping off our best ally and only democracy in the entire region. Go figure...spleaking of health care, how do you all feel now that your benefits that you work hard for will be taxed as income to pay for deadbeats and illegal immigrants to get a free ride? This is Obama care. Example: you have surgery and care that amounts to $20,000 well guess what, you now are taxed on it as income. I read today where all the unions are opposing this, too late guys, you got fooled.

most babies born with birth defects are the parents fault-they were druggies, got pregnant to young or most of the problem are these 50yr olds who think they still go it and want a kid- if you cant do it naturally beacause your old then dont do it. I find it odd that yesterday another SEX OFFENDER was put in jail, I guess he will not make the news untill he goes to trial. Why? I think his face and name should be shown. I wonder if he has been in contact with children other than his own. I am sure his kids (parent or guardian charge) had friends that spent the night and did he hang out at the park or other areas that kids frequent? I wonder if he could have been in contact with my children...everyone should ask that question. Parents we should remember we need to still teach our kids about "strangers" not just drugs, and obviously the stranger CAN be the best-friends dad! I pray for ALL of the children harmed by this man and every child that had their life changed by a BAD person.

Jane Doe, that is the big difference between myself and most christians, I do not consider myself perfect. I'm not the one professing to be a christian while calling others "IGNORANT". The truth of the matter is you, like so many other self-proclaimed christians, "get furious" when someone doesn't agree with your beliefs. I respect your right to your religious beliefs but you need to respect the rights of those who view the bible as nothing more than a book of fiction created to control the masses. Maybe if you would keep your religion in your chruch and in your own home you wouldn't hear these retaliatory comments that cause you so much anger. I don’t understand why people think that government supported healthcare, welfare, and other programs are a right and that they come free. Believe me; I know the cost of them every time I see my paycheck. Before you jump on the bandwagon of socialism do some research. Research Canadian and European health plans. What you find is it cost Canada about $15 billion dollars last year to provide healthcare for the citizens. You will also find that their government imposes restrictions on surgery, testing, and drugs that can be used. The waiting lists for procedures can actually put someone at risk when a problem needs to be caught early for treatment. And where in the world are we going to get the money to start and maintain these kinds of programs? The government has nearly bankrupted Medicare. Why do we want them in charge of our families health? Think, people!

Freedom of speech does not apply to sites owned by private companies. Stop with the sermons - PLEASE. We live in FREE COUNTRY and while we are free to express/live/love our beliefs, this is not the forum. It is not a battle that either side will win on "The Yell". Believers know who will win as we've read the back of the book. Non-believers have to rely on whatever it is that causes them not to believe. I love reading comments posted here, but I really love it when we get on a subject that truly provokes thought, or brings up an issue concerning our community or State where just maybe one of us will offer up a viable solution. EX: I had to go to the Judicial Annex in Chas yest. After parking 2 blks away & walking in the rain because the pkg bldg said it was full, I get all the way there, & they've got a puny paper sign on the door saying the due to a gas leak, closed until 6/11. Had they put a boarded sign on the sidewalk, "Courthouse & Annex CLOSED" I would not have wasted my time, or risked my safety. Now that, made me wanna YELL!

To WV Resident: I admire your powers of persuasion. Name-calling is known to be the best technique in terms of swaying opinion. My family's experiences with the Huntington VA Hospital have ALL been very positive. In comparison with experiences with private hospitals, we were not subjected to the usual medical treatments designed to "run up" the cost of care nor did we experience my relative ever being "pushed out the door" because of necessary cost of care. In our personal experience, private and not-for-profit hospitals did engage in these types of tactical treatment/cost strategies designed to maximize profit for the hospital without regard to patient needs. The pulmonary unit was especially wonderful to work with. It would be hard to find someone more compassionate than Pete Williams or Dr. Moritz in Cardiothoracic Division. Obviously, I have a Veteran as a family member who has received care there, so please do not direct hateful comments toward that family member.

Jeannie---you are an idiot...you think the VA Hospital is a jewell...then you must be dealing with CZ's and not the "real" diamond ---my husband is a Veteran and has been going to the Huntington VA Center for years...He has not been given the proper care ---I always have to take him to a "reputable" hospital such as St Marys or to an outside doctor ...All the physicians are just doctor wannabes...99% foreign ---just here for the money....it's so sad to think that one served his/her country and cannot get the necessary care...It makes me sick each time I take him there...The majority of the people going to the VA are seeking drugs or trying to get the almighty 100%---Like I said the VA Center is a disgrace....and I'm not just talking about the Huntington location...I mean Clarksburg, Beckley all of them...

People judge christians by the way they act and I am sorry to say that some don't act very good. But remember God is the judge,not us. He is loving and merciful and patient but He has a limit and some day He will show His wrath. We each have a concience and we know right from wrong. When we constantly do things that are not according to the will of God and it doesn't bother us then the devil already has us but when we are bothered by the bad deeds we do God is telling us to change and be sorry for the bad deeds we have done and He will for give us. All we have to do is ask and He knows our true hearts whether we meant it or not. Past,present and furture sins were put on Jesus and He suffered the agonies that we should have had to do on a terrible cross. He died and then arose and sits in heaven at the right hand of God interceding on our behalf. If you believe there is no God nor Jesus then why worry and try to disprove that They exist?

Waiting 6 months to see a doctor is better than never seeing a doctor (assuming the 6-month wait period is true, which it's not). The VA Hospital is Huntington is the best hospital I've ever had the privilege of working with. The Huntington VA Hospital is a jewel in our region. Sometimes things don't go perfectly, but comparing my interactions with private and other so-called "not-for-profit" hospitals like KDMC and ARH, Huntington has them beaten hands down. The US does NOT have the best health care in the world - just ask the 50 million who do not have access to ANY health care. If there are any responses, please do not post lies, only post facts that can be retrieved by others, from REPUTABLE sources, not Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc., etc. The current system of health care already puts the for-profit health insurance companies in between patient & Dr., already dictating where, when, & if I can receive care (if approved by clerk and if not due to pre-existing condition).

Hello to all good working coal miners of WV and there families and to all our good friends at Channel 3 down in Huntington I have a request when you come down here for the big coal meeting catch one of them hippies and ask them how they can walk off the job so easily and travel all the way down here from Ohio to bother other people and put them out of work. I would like to come over and say hello but of course somebody has to dig coal to keep the lights and TVs burning. Is there nothing that can be done in the legislature up in Charleston to keep these people and there over ten percent unemployment rate out of WV? A nice thing to do would be to put up some welcome signs for all our distinguished visitors people wake up and see what these hippies are up to. I seen on TV now where they are bragging about there plastic bags using less plastic well that means less oil to make that plastic and less coal to make that oil and less miners to have jobs. So think before you put your baloney sandwich in a hippie ziplock somebodys job depends on it.

Casting the 1st stone was for those who wanted to murder the female who was caught in the act of immorality. It has nothing to do with not being able to call a sin a sin. And what does love for one another have to do with it? Jesus loves every one of us, yet HE himself has called out sin. So, then according to your philosophy, if I get a speeding ticket, I can't tell someone they are wrong if they speed? I don't love the person if I tell them that? I am judging the person if I tell them that? For me, it is LOVE that drives me to share my morals with others. I love others and don't want harm to come to them. As a child I disobeyed my parents. Now, as a parent, am I now supposed to not discipline my kids? Just the opposite. Because I love, I discipline. I am guilty of sin which does not mean I can't call out what a sin is. True judgment will come in due time from God. Calling a sin a sin is not judging someone. God has already labeled it in the Bible and God is love. the 2 can coexist.

to Daniel, although I understand where you are coming from I needed to to respond in disagreement. The Baptist preacher upset you I observed, my Baptist preacher upsets me every sermon, I think It helps me get closer to God. There are many things in this world God does not like, and you are correct on passing judgement, but it seems that when something is said that you don't like you need to call someone out on the matter. You are really going to be upset with this one but here it is. I do not believe there will be any gay pride parades in Heaven. Also, I do not believe there will be a lot of things which I like to do in Heaven. Oh btw God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and as he will forgive anyone who comes to Him(thru Jesus Christ)he will never accept this abomination. You sir believing He will is what pushes away and helps the sinner not to understand God.

Gandalf you make an interesting point but there are some ground rules you have to follow, just to be fair. First off you need about 30 or more other writers than the ones you mentioned, try to get them from differnet regions of the world and living in different time periods, often never meeting or knowing one another. Then get them to say crazy things like God inspired their writings, and arrange for a central figure to come to your planet and claim to be not just a great teacher or prophet, but God Himself. Then mix in an element of prophecy, something totally exclusive to the bible, and be accurate 100% of the time. Then be geographically correct, i.e., the countries you mention have to exist, not be made up, like "the land bountiful." You have to have an archelogical record too with plenty of artifacts dated to the time peroid written about, know names, politicians, dates, geneologies, etc...correctly hundreds of years after the fact. I would say you have your hands full my friend.

who made ministers gay police?god almighty,,,to go to any church without wanting to repent and expect someone to pat you on the back and reenforce sinful behavior is a bigger sin than the person commited.the bible plainly says that the pastor,minister,teaching of gods laws that are not taught makes the preacher a bigger sinner than the person attending church looking for guidance.that goes for all sin,not just sodomy.adultry stealing,lying,etc.imagine going to a church where you had a unrepenant thief and he was proud of all he could steal from the church,i dont think it unchristian to tell this person to leave and not come back untill he wants to chande his ways.to allow any of these people to stay would send a message,especially the youth in the church that any of these behaviors are alright to do.i,m sorry you are so unhappy.

Good thing I was a mature Christian when a church ran my family off becuase my kids were wearing a hat, in one of the back rooms of their church. What if I was not a Christian? Do you think if I had no knowledge about the true love of Christ, I would have embraced Jesus? You my brother are a stumbling block even to your work that you are suppose to be doing. Just embrace Christ and share the news that there is a better place with him after the darkness here on earth. That is ALL your called to do. Let him [God} handle their hearts. Only he has the power to save, not you. Sour limes do not produce sweet lemonade... You are just guilty as the rest of us, your sin and the sin you will commit in the minutes to come is also what held Christ to that cross just as mine held him there. God bless.

Hello to all good working coal miners of WV and there families and to all our good friends at Channel 3 down in Huntington I have a request when you come down here for the big coal meeting catch one of them hippies and ask them how they can walk off the job so easily and travel all the way down here from Ohio to bother other people and put them out of work. I would like to come over and say hello but of course somebody has to dig coal to keep the lights and TVs burning. Is there nothing that can be done in the legislature up in Charleston to keep these people and there over ten percent unemployment rate out of WV? A nice thing to do would be to put up some welcome signs for all our distinguished visitors people wake up and see what these hippies are up to. I seen on TV now where they are bragging about there plastic bags using less plastic well that means less oil to make that plastic and less coal to make that oil and less miners to have jobs. So think before you put your baloney sandwich in a hippie ziplock somebodys job depends on it.

I agree with Daniel"baptist preacher". You have the right to NOT support sin,but you do not have the right as a Christian to judge someone else.Jesus loved the sinner,that is who he dwelt amoungst.People critized him when he entered a sinners home.You are doing the exact samething as the ones that did not know he was God.Do you actually think Jesus would approve,of you trying to remove a speck from someones eye when you my brother have a plank in yours.Try and be a light for Christ by loving just as he loved,not an instigator.God can't stand their SIN just as he can't stand your's or mine.There is none that is righteous no not one.Thank God for Jesus Christ who washed our sins away.Everything is forgiven if you accept him.You will never be perfect on this earth so who are you trying to fool? Spread the love of Christ.It is not the healthy that need a doctor.You cannot put a stop to sin, when you yourself are a sinner.So just as he accepted you that is a sinner, he loves them also.

To the baptist preacher...who made you the gay police? What better way to push people from the church then to make judgment. Let God be the judge. Who are you to decide how one shall be? God tells us not to judge but you go against his word and make judgment on someone. You are not without sin so do not cast the first stone. Pursue someone and that will push them further away from God. Be the example and let God do his own judgment. From my baptist upbringing I can tell you that you are no preacher. You can not preach love and then turn around and judge others. Stand before God and tell him that you chased his children from seeking his forgiveness because of your action toward them. Shame on you and I hope to never attend your two face church.

Ok smart guy, try this from the book of John: "In the BEGINNING (way back when, long long ago before people were created) was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God...the word put on flesh and became a man (Jesus Christ) now when did you say your laws and morals originated? Who was here at the beginning to pre-date God to think them up? You do make a good point though, laws and morals must come from somewhere and since man is created in the image of God, and we know from other scripture that God does not have a body of flesh and bone, it must mean we are created in his moral image. So we are born knowing right from wrong? Yes, that's the point of scripture. We humans have a sense of justice and reason that animals do not have, and that is one of the greatest proofs that animals and man are not related. The difference is the human soul that man possesses and the animal does not. When a lion kills a zebra, how come nobody arrests the zebra for murder?

This is @ facts about Gods laws6-3-09. It doesn't say in the bible that it's o.k. for people to judge each other. It says judge not lest yee be judged. There's only one judge and I think you know who that is. It' not your spouse, or big earl. I think big earl is trying to start a feud by trying to block county lines to keep people out. Sounds kinda barbaric if you ask me. Maybe we should all block our boundaries and keep people from boone and logan countians away?????seems like massey has a lot of people in their pocket including supreme court justices. Must of been right about there being two laws one for the rich and one for the poor.

Well hello again good working coal miners of WV this is Big Earl with news of a coalfield summit to try and figure out what to do to save our jobs from these tree hugger hippie and PETA types. First off my question to mayor Mr. S.N of Logan WV is why does your town not have a Cracker Barrel restaurant? No offence to your conference center but I wager you don’t have Sawmill gravy and biscuits. Second I would encourage the sheriff of Logan County to set up roadblocks at the county border and watch the train station to and keep the hippies out. It aint illegal read up on Sheriff Chafin he did it one time nobody got into Logan except he said so and if they gave him any guff he gave them what for. Has anyone invited our own Gov. Joe to this. He could make the State Police line the tree huggers up with them will work for food signs at the entrance and take up donations for the soad pop for the coal people. Course the hardest work these hippies ever did was have one of there group hugs while bothering some mining companys bulldozers and trying to put somebody out of a job.

hey we got a maintance man who likes to peek into people trailer windows @ all hours of the night when you call the police wont come so i guess people takes matters in there own hands and whack with a baseball bat,hey what you think about somebody shooting a weapon @ 3:00am and you call the police again wont come now only 1 call was reported wow found out that a resident was shooting @ a raccoon @ other animal which was getting into his garbage.
