You all need to just chill out with the calls to "update the yell." As I believe, The Yell is a voluntarily provided service by WSAZ, not a mandatory provision in some imaginary contract. WSAZ is the best and only place for local news in my home. Go to other local news websites and survey them for yourself. No one else even offers services like The Yell. At times, the postings get a little extreme, but WSAZ still allows postings that are judged by some as distasteful or inaccurate, but WSAZ still allows for airing of different opinions, as long as "The Line" is not crossed.

Massey Coal has more authority in w.v. than the Gov.. We need to elect someone who cares about the state and the common people. It makes me sick how wv's bow to big corps., this is our state lets make the big corps. and gov. officials bow to us!, we put them in their positions of power if they don't do what we want, vote them out!! we can't afford a gov. like joe anymore! Caperton made auto ins. mandatory because he owned an ins. agency, bush got the price of oil sky-high why? so his family could remain wealthy forever. I got caught in the bad storm in minford 7/11/09 and went to seek shelter in Mule Town store with my wife to two children age 5 and 8. The Lady told us that we had to leave because the electric was flickering and we couldn't stay there, Per her bosses instructions. My son and daughter was scared. He keep saying he wanted to stay there where it was safe and she told us to leave and locked the door behind us. It was hailing, raining, high winds really bad. We just missed getting hit by a tree that fell on state route 335. We left and went to the fire station a mile away to take cover during the rest of the severe storm.

I believe many main stream media outlets are viewing Sarah Palin and Nancy Pelosi through opposite lenses. The biased coverage of Sarah Palin tends to paint her as a tough as nails mother/politician who’s fighting the "good fight" for the intangible “what’s right,” yet Nancy Pelosi is vilified as a woman who will stop at nothing to get what she wants while stepping on the faces of the “regular folk” to achieve her goals. I feel the coverage is more favorable to Palin simply because she is a prettier than Pelosi.

Did you people know that moths and butterflys prefer honeysuckle plants well I didn’t either but then again I wont be planting it because it is bad enough at night in summertime it is not like there is any shortage of these pesty moths every time you open the door they come flying in and you are chasing them around with a fly swat for days on end. Now I do not complain about butterflies because every kid needs them to catch and put in a mason jar with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol and settle down you hippies I am not talking about Jack Daniels but rubbing alcohol that pickles them for your science project. One of the greatest inventions ever and a friend to cookouts everywhere was the electric purple lighted bug zapper guaranteed to fix every skeeter or bug two ways regular or extra crispy. So thank you PETA nuts I will keep the weeds cut my flyswatter handy and my yellow light bulb on you stay in your own yard and grow all the honeysuckle and dope plants you want.

Hello again good working people of WV this is Big Earl and have you people been to the grocery store and seen them little black hippie grocery bags made out of recycled tree bark and twigs well the reason they are peddling these grass bags is because the PETA types are boohooing about all the poor animals trying to eat the plastic sacks and getting all tangled up in them. Well I don’t know about you but any animal that has got any sense does not try and eat a plastic sack. I have yet to see a bear rummaging around in a garbage dump or a raccoon banging around in a trash can trying to eat a plastic sack. First the tree huggers have a fit about chopping down trees to make paper sacks for the grocery store so we have to switch to plastic now the same bunch wants to make you use a bag made in China did you people watch the Olympics they have slop running through the streets over there colored green and up to your knees what looks like the blob in that movie. When you go to the store and they don’t have anybody to sack up your groceries lend a hand to the cashier and while your doing it double bag everything remember people plastic sacks are made out of oil which is made out of coal which means you can help save a job instead of some stupid animal that eats plastic like the PETA types keep.

Now it's taking up the three major networks as well! He's not a bit better than Ed McMahon, Farrah or any of the other recent celebs who have passed & NOTHING was made of them He's CERTAINLY no better than police, firemen or our soldiers being killed in Iraq/A'ghanstan and none of THEM get any mention much less 24/7 coverage For the taxpayers of LA to have to pick up the tab for this Million $$$ mess is obscene too - let his "broke" estate pay for it or Al Sharpton! He's also NOT the "best" entertainer in history either IMHO. He was a good singer/dancer yes, BUT he's not the second coming people! I've heard comments that he's "bigger than God"! Not in MY book! I just wonder why there haven't been any updates on any of his hearings. I checked and he's still in the regional jail. I swear too many outragous things happen in Mason County. Look at the union under him and figure it out. So hows the hope and change working for everyone? Another half million jobs lost in June. Trace it back folks, the economy went belly up when it bacame apparent the democrat party was going to nominate a radical, ignorant, inexperienced marxist to their ticket. Economists tell us that full employment is considered at an unemployment rate of 4.7%, a year ago unemployment was at 5%. But you all know, Bush was soooo stupid. Look at how the war in Iraq turned out...ooops can't use that one, look at how great the economy is now...oops, can't use that one...well everybody hated us when Bush was in office and now everybody just loooves us and helps us out in the world, well, oops, look at N. Korea, Iran, can't use that one. Some of you really got fooled.

What a disappointment the Ashland Summer Motion was for our children. No focus on the children whatsoever...........The hospitals were the main focus along with the motorcycle show..... very little for the children to enjoy. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!

WSAZ I ask of you please do a a follow up story of the 6 weeks of rain that we had so some of these people who have forgotten will have some miniscule sense of thereselves to know that ALL THAT RAIN would cause flooding anywhere. Here is another story. Find UMWA president MR. Roberts and ask him why he hasn't come out and had his brothers and sisters to be involved in keeping there MTR jobs.All these people that say Massey is a Union breaking company should be worried in salvaging the jobs they do have. It's not rocket science, UMWA supports Obama, in return Obama may reward them. This may be from left field but believe I am on to something. Isn't it strange the protesters only target Massey. Most of them are led to believe there are NO union jobs in WV. HOW STRANGE!? Here is the hunch I have WV politicians don't like Don B and the Union supports Obama. So sounds like a money trail to me for the hippies. Just a thought, but makes for good reporting. Big Earl lets make the idea reality!

Buck, I agree. When it comes to kids playing sports (not just in the summer), the parents are CRAZY! They just need to "cut the cord" and allow their children, the refs, and coaches worry about the games. Now if you have a parent who is a coach just watch out...that is a double wammy!

i saw on the news this morning obama is in russia and he took the family,people are upset about gov of south carolinia takeing a trip on taxpayers money,witch he agreed to payback, is obama going to pay for his familys plane tickets,hotel bill,food and entertainment or will it us taxpayers.....

why is it w/ summer sports it seems the parents make it all about them instead of the kids. am i wrong or do alot of these parents seem to want to relive life again through the kids. or even worse make a claim to being so good at whatever the sport the parent did that they push the kid all because of what they did 'or never did'. These parents also seem to be the really high ego type person. funny thing is if the parent was so good then why arent they pro or at least a great college player. what i have noticed is the the kids w/ the parent who did play college or was on the verge of being pro does not press the issue. they allow the kids to play ball. just my opinion

Well hello again good working coal people of WV this is Big Earl and I hope everyone had a nice holiday wouldn’t it be nice if we could have a holiday or one of them permenant vacations from all the tree hugger types and hippies that are barging into our communities uninvited tying to run all our jobs off. Well good people I am calling on those who have the means to do so and you know who you are so lets pony up some cash and have our own protest here in the coal fields to support our coal miners. I seen on this very TV station where the tree huggers held a rally and a cookout with a bunch of Grateful Dead hippie wanttobees singing about the trees and polar bears but we can do one better. We can have it down at the coal festival in Madison people I say invite some real singers who aint got above there raisin like WV adopted son Mr. Charlie Daniels and how about Alabama since they have coal down there to. Invite Gov. Joe and them people from Washington DC that is a good way to find out who is pretending to be a friend of coal and who is really on our side. We could even make Mother Jones bobblehead dolls to give away I for one would like to see her set loose on these tree huggers that have invaded Cabin Creek trying to run off her beloved coal miners. You could pull a string and she would say #** !!##**!! Tree huggers.
