I for one am glad President Relax-a-lot got plenty of vacations. My family did not get one. We are all required to have car insurance, but they don't pay off. My vehicle was totaled by a man who ran a red light in early June. Now the children are heading back to school and we are still waiting for them to pay up. They are giving us 1/2 what we paid for our vehicle. 1/2 what it will cost to replace it. When they get around to it. Meanwhile we sit at home. Can't wait for new health insurance! What a country!

Hoover's failure to stabilize the markets of the early 1930's, and his restrictions on access to capital, and the resulting decade of misery. The creation of the EPA in response to free markets causing rivers to catch on fire, corrosive rainfall that burns the skin, the near extinction of our national bird. Gramm's Great Housing Crisis, allowing Wall Street to gamble on the housing markets. As if we didn't learn our lesson the first time around, ADD I guess. 100,000 Americans who die every year as a result of an infections received during a trip to the hospital. That's twice as many that die in car accidents. Keith, your ideas are just way too utopian, I think we need a more conservative approach, one that involves rational thought, jurisprudence, caution, and careful consideration.

Right now, at least we have hospitals that compete with each other to provide services; when employers begin dropping coverage, and private insurers are driven out of business, THEN all we will have is Obamacare and Dr. Nick J. Rahall; one provider, lousy "care" shortages, rationing, a nightmare will result. What it will take though, is a catastrophic failure of the system, a la Greece, Japan, etc...just as the NY Times advised Greece on how to get out of debt, drop government ran "health care." There is hope though, the Missouri results, for example, show nearly 80% of the state does not want Obama's abomination. VA and many other states are suing. We may have turned a corner where people are not going to lie down for liberal/progressive destruction anymore; they are wrecking the economy; job reports are due out tomorrow, let's see how the "Summer of Recovery" is going...

Rationing is the intent, actually. For a system that isn't the least bit accountable for cost of service, quality of service, and performance results. The average engine rolling down the manufacturing line of any automotive manufacturer gets more quality control that someone having medical procedure XYZ. Medicine and its current incarnation of a "delivery system" is one step above quasi-science, always has been, hopefully won't be for much longer. The best solution would be to scrap Medicare/Medicaid in their entirety, however, the days for that as an option have long passed.

It has been slow going but the liberals have out smarted the conservatives. They did this by getting key positions in public schools and universities and used those positions to influence the minds of young Americans. They got the jump on using the internet to indoctrinate others and liberals have taken key roles in the media. The liberals have gotten plenty of help from socialists over seas in indoctrinating America's young people through the internet. All the while the conservatives have done next to nothing to counteract this. The liberals are aiming at the minds of the young and the young are the future. The conservatives are still aiming at the middle aged and old. You cannot build a future on the backs of the middle aged or old. Conservatives get with it and reach out to the young Americans before it's too late.
