SEVERE WEATHER: Slick Roads Reported Across Region

Emergency 9-1-1 dispatchers tell us there were accidents all over Kanawha County Monday evening as a result of the snowfall.

Right now: dispatchers tell us most major roads: including I-64 Westbound between Dunbar and Institute: I-77 Northbound in the city of Charleston: and Corridor G from MacCorkle Avenue to Lucado Road are back open. All of these roads were shut down earlier Monday evening due to accidents.

Dispatchers tell us that so far, no major injuries have been reported. But everyone in the snowy area is advised to stay off the roads if at all possible.

10:56pm: "Ice it is so bad out there. I just want to tell everyone please stay off the roads if it’s possible." -- ANN / HUNTINGTON, WV

10:34pm: "Main roads are in very poor condition due to lack of attention by the state road crews. Ohio state crews waited until AFTER the snow started to work on the roads. No brine was put on the road due to as a state worker told me "it would cause the road ways to be slick due to the temperature" however Boyd and Greenup counties in Kentucky did get the brine on their roads today! This seems to be a pattern of late - Ohio roads used to be well maintained in inclement weather but this is not the case any longer!" -- LISA / COAL GROVE, OH

9:52pm: "2 car mva w/ rollover i-77 just miles from Ripley exit in Jackson County, possible injury has been reported. Emergency crews are currently on scene. 1 car rollover i-77 north mm ?151? 9:44pm: "I drove from Ripley to Pocatalico between 7:20 pm and 7:55 pm, and did not see a single snow plow until I exited at Pocatalico! The snow plows are usually sitting on the shoulder waiting for snow, but when it's actually snowing, they're no where to be seen! The roads were getting bad at that point; it's snowing so hard I'm sure they're terrible now!" -- KATE / SISSONVILLE, WV
