HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The fierce winter weather has caused some cancellations this weekend. Here is the list so far for the weekend of December 6-7, 2008::

WEST VIRGINIA
MASON COUNTY, WV
The caroling event scheduled at Krodel Park for Saturday night has been canceled. The event for the 12th is still on schedule.

Piano recital & choir concert set for Sunday @ 3pm at the Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High has been canceled. It will be rescheduled.

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va.
Consuming Fire Ministries in Williamson is closed Sunday due to bad road conditions.

NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va.
New Beginnings Worship Center in Summersville, WV is operating on the 2pm inclement weather schedule. All morning services are canceled.

OHIO
GALLIA COUNTY, OH
Gallipolis Christmas Parade has been canceled. It was at 4:15 p.m. It will be rescheduled for next week sometime. No date or time released has been set just yet.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, OH:
Rock Hill vs. Gallia Academy Basketball Game at 7:30 at Rock Hill is canceled.

Pleasant Valley Free Will Baptist Church in Pedro, OH is canceling morning services Sunday.

MEIGS COUNTY, OH
Oasis Christian Fellowship of Meigs County, OH is canceling morning services Sunday.

PIKE COUNTY, OH
Eastern High School vs. Minford basketball is canceled. It was at 6:00 p.m.

SCIOTO COUNTY, OH
Chesapeake vs. Wheelersburg basketball is canceled.

Rosemount Road Church of the Nazarene in Portsmouth, Ohio canceled all Sunday services.

Cedar Street Church in New Boston, Ohio has canceled morning services only.

KENTUCKY
BOYD COUNTY, KY
Touchstone Ministries in Catlettsburg, Ky. has canceled Praise and Worship services for Sunday, December 7.

ELLIOTT COUNTY, KY
Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Sandy Hook, KY: weekend services canceled

Hey Bob, It wasn't the inch of snow that was fierce, it was the ICE underneath that made it bad.

Everyone's gotta be a comedian. It's not necessarily the snow, but the rigid temperatures combined with the present moisture, that makes the roads unsafe to travel.
