This May is officially in the top ten driest Mays ever at the Huntington Tri-State Airport.

May’s 1.24 inches of rain was low enough to become the site’s 6th driest May ever, since records began back in 1892. 4.41 inches of rain traditionally falls during the month of May at the Huntington Tri-State Airport, so this May ended up more than three inches below normal rainfall-wise.

This May just edged out May of 1964, when 1.25” of rain fell at the Tri-State Airport. That year is now moved into the 7th spot.

The driest May ever happened back in 1932 when less than one inch (0.78”) of rain fell.
