MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Eastern Kentucky saw a thick, wet blanket of snow Sunday.

The Department of Highway's road crews were out in full force scraping and salting roads.

"You have a lot of people's lives that you have control over," Johnny Rainwater said. "if this road is too bad they could get killed, but if you keep it clean there's not as many accidents."

Rainwater has worked with the DOH for four years. He was a school bus driver for 15 years before that, so he knows how important clear roads are.
