ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) --- The water may be long gone, but the memories of flash flooding in downtown Ashland will linger for a long while.
"I've never seen water come to people like that," Mike Moyer says."I've seen people go through water when they shouldn't, but never the reverse."
Moyer owns a towing company along Greenup Avenue in Ashland. On Tuesday night, his crews towed more than 18 vehicles -- stranded because of severe storms that plowed through Ashland and Boyd County on Tuesday night.
"People were on the patio just snapping pictures," Curt Elder says. He's the manager at Donatos Pizza along 13th Street. The pizzeria is directly across from a Speedway gas station.
That area of 13th Street and Carter saw upward of 4 feet of water because of flash flooding.
"It made a believer of me," Elder says. "I'll never drive through high water."
