I really don't think any weather condition could dampen the spirits of Mountaineer fans right now. With Saturday Night's Backyard Brawl being the only thing standing in the way of WVU playing in the BCS Championship Game, there could be blizzard (or locusts) by game time, and I'm sure the Mountaineer faithful will have Milan Puskar Stadium packed to the gills. That said, our region will be awaiting a strong, developing low pressure system on Saturday. As the system moves from the southern Plains through the Great Lakes, expect to see some clouds streaming in later in the day on Saturday. A warm front will make its way across West Virginia early Sunday morning. The 7:45pm kickoff looks to be early enough to keep the precipitation and winds from affecting the game. Expect cloudy skies and temperatures around 35-degrees for kickoff. Temperatures are expected to remain in the lower-30s throughout the game. Winds will be easterly at 5 miles per hour. Rain (maybe early sleet) is expected late in the overnight hours...perhaps dampening some late night revelers should the Mountaineers win.
