West Virginia's 26th governor lived the life of a head of state -- giving speeches, attending groundbreaking and hosting ceremonial events.

But in 1968, Governor Wally Barron found himself in trouble with the law, accused of bribery, along with with several of his top officials.

It was a charge he beat. A jury acquitted him and he spoke with WSAZ's Charles Ryan, saying he was very happy to be vindicated.

The glee didn't last long. Three years later, it was revealed that Barron bribed the jury foreman.

He was charged, convicted and served time in prison.
