GREENUP, Ky. - (WSAZ) - The results are unofficial, but the chairman of the organization working to allow the sale of alcohol in some parts of Greenup County says the measure passed Monday.

According to Jeremy Bates, the chair of the Greenup County Committee for Economic Development, the results are as follows:

Greenup:

172 for 114 against

Raceland:

345 for 294 against

South Shore:

97 for 80 against

Hunnewell:

128 for 120 against

This means the cities of Greenup, Raceland, and South Shore will be allowed to have a restaurant that serves alcohol and a carryout location, such as a gas station.

In Hunnewell, an area of Greenup County, the wet designation will allow for alcohol sales at Riverbend Golf Course.

“This is only a small step on a long road to financial growth for our area, but we just started walking towards success,” Bates said.

Greenup County is expected to release the results Tuesday. Keep checking the WSAZ app for the latest information.
