UPDATE | Man arrested after one dead, one injured in shooting

UPDATE 1/1/21 @ 8:13 a.m.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Cross Lanes Friday morning.

Sheriff Mike Rutherford tells us David Tyler Rogers, 23 of Charleston, has been arrested and charged with two counts of wanton endangerment after a shooting in a convenience store parking lot.

The Departments says Rogers is accused of shooting a gun several times, endangering bystanders.

Police tell us that Caleb Marcum, 19 of Red House, was killed in the incident. Brent Jenkins, 23 of Scott Depot, was shot and is in the hospital.

The Sheriff says Rogers is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

One person was killed, and another person was injured in a shooting in Kanawha County.

Kanawha County dispatchers said the shooting was reported around 2 a.m. Friday at Sheetz in Cross Lanes.

Kanawha County deputies said two people were shot after an altercation. One person was shot in the face, that person later died. The other victim is being treated at the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

One of the people shot went to a gas station in Institute after the shooting.

Investigators have located the shooter, but no one has been arrested at this time. Kanawha County deputies are investigating.
