HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -Things looked bleak in Stillwater, Oklahoma for West Virginia’s basketball team Monday night. The Mountaineers were down by 19 points in the second half but put together a torrid comeback for an unlikely 87-84 win over Oklahoma State.
The Mountaineers, ranked 14th in the latest Associated Press poll, got a 22 point, 19 rebound performance from Derek Culver to help fuel the comeback.
West Virginia’s Deuce McBride hit consecutive 3 pointers late to put the Mountaineers up by 4 and they never lost the lead after that.
WVU improves to 9-3 overall and 2-2 in Big 12 play.
They will host #4 Texas at the Coliseum on Saturday.
