Woman dead in two-vehicle crash; name released

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - More details have been released about a deadly two-vehicle crash that happened Thursday on U.S. 50 at the intersection of Torch Road, including the name of a woman who died.
Linda Lou Russell, 78, of New Haven, West Virginia, was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital in Belpre where she was pronounced dead, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports.
An 80-year-old man in the SUV Russell was driving, a Chevrolet Equinox, was later transferred to Cabell Huntington Hospital with life-threatening injuries, trooper say.
Investigators say Russell was attempting to pull onto U.S. 50 from Torch Road when the SUV collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries, according to troopers.
The crash was reported just after 4:30 p.m.
