According to the Charleston Police Department, police responded to a stabbing call Sunday, September 24, 2023, at approximately 1:10 p.m.

When officers arrived at 1105 Quarrier Street, they found Jackie James Cummings, 27, of Duck, West Virginia, with a stab wound to the upper leg.
