2 firearms found in vehicle near high school

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Two firearms were found Tuesday morning inside a vehicle at Johnson Central High School, according to a release from Johnson County Schools.

Administrators say the vehicle was parked in the high school parking lot at the time, and there was no immediate danger to anyone at the school.

“We were able to address the situation quickly and safely,” the release states. “We truly appreciate the quick response from our administration and law enforcement in making sure our school remains a safe place to learn and grow.”

School administrators are working with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. No one is in custody at this time.
