Elementary teacher arrested, accused of pinching student to get their attention
WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE/Gray News) – An elementary school teacher in Louisiana was arrested after allegedly pinching a student to get the child’s attention.
The West Monroe Police Department arrested Jlon Prosser on Wednesday afternoon on one count of simple battery.
According to arrest records, officers were called to Riverbend Elementary about a battery complaint. Records show the alleged incident happened on Monday.
Police said Prosser admitted to pinching the child in a playful manner intended to get the child’s attention.
Ouachita Parish Schools released a statement on Facebook about Prosser’s arrest:
“On Wednesday, West Monroe Police Department informed Ouachita Parish Schools that a teacher at Riverbend Elementary School was arrested for a misdemeanor on campus during the school day. This is a personnel matter, and no other comment can be made at this time.”
