Emily was born and raised in Eastern Pennsylvania on an 85-acre farm. She went to college south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Waynesburg University. At first, she thought she'd be a sports broadcaster, but that changed after taking classes with a professor who had more than 20 years of experience as a TV news reporter.
Emily spent a summer in college interning in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and she knew this was the career she wanted to pursue.
After Emily graduated from college, she accepted a job at WYMT in Hazard, Kentucky. She spent two years there as an anchor and reporter.
During the last two years, Emily's love for Appalachia has grown and she's excited to stay in the region and now tell your stories here at WSAZ.
Outside of work, you’ll find Emily watching sports or HGTV, hiking to a waterfall, or traveling to the nearest beach! The outdoors is her favorite way to de-stress!
