Katie Wilson

Anchor, morning reporter
Huntington, West Virginia
Katie Wilson

Katie was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. (Go Browns!) She graduated from Emory University in 2015 with a co-major in Journalism and Sociology. From there, she got her first taste of the Mountain State in Parkersburg, West Virginia at WTAP. She worked her way up from nightside reporter to 6 and 11 o'clock anchor. That's also where she met her now-husband!

From there, she moved to WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio, as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter. Getting back into the role of reporter, Katie realized her passion for telling stories that help people. Whether it was getting trash picked up on a street that became a dumping site, or getting power restored to a family with flood damage, the feeling of giving back was priceless.

At the end of 2018, Katie found herself back in West Virginia, joining the WSAZ news team. She's filled many rolls at the station from weekend anchor, morning reporter, Studio 3 anchor, midday anchor, and now WSAZ news at 7 and 8 anchor! Grab a cup of coffee and join her on the cw each morning with Brandon Butcher.

When she's not at work, Katie's typically napping whenever possible, enjoying some snuggles with her cat Duncan, or trying to get in some exercise. Her main passion is encouraging others to register to become an organ donor after her own father was saved by a heart transplant in 2020.
