Rob Johnson

Rob has worked his whole career at WSAZ. He started in 1982 as an intern and worked his way up from there. He has served as a reporter, producer and anchor. Rob is now anchoring the morning and midday news for WSAZ.

Rob is a native of the area. He graduated from Huntington High School and then Indiana University’s School of Journalism.

Rob’s wife, Mary, is also a Huntington native and is the owner of Aladdin’s Art Gallery in Ashland. His daughter Ginny is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and is currently an environmental researcher and educator.

Rob has been active in the community. He has helped with various groups like Habitat for Humanity, Hospital Hospitality House, Little Victories Animal Rescue, Mountaineer Boys State, Ashland Winter Wonderland of Lights, The Ashland Festival of Trees and Trains, and many others.
