UPDATE: Power restored in Grayson, Kentucky

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Power has been restored to Kentucky Power customers in Grayson.

Delinda Borden with Kentucky Power tells WSAZ there was an issue at one of the transformers.

She says power was out for the city for a short period of time, but it was restored just after 12:45 p.m. Monday.

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- More than 2,000 Kentucky Power customers are without power in Carter County, Kentucky.

According to AEP's website, there are 2,557 customers without power as of 12:42 p.m.

Carter County dispatchers tell WSAZ most of the city of Grayson is without power. This includes businesses, as well as East Carter Middle School and East Carter High School.

Police are out in the city directing traffic, due to stop lights being out.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ they believe a transformer blew, causing the outage.

No word when the outage will be restored.
