POMEROY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A young flight paramedic was found dead at a helicopter base in Pomeroy Thursday morning.

Mark Potter, 28, passed away at MedFlight's Meigs County facility.

According to a statement from the company, there is no known cause of death yet.

“We are devastated regarding the news of Mark’s death," said MedFlight President Tom Allenstein. "Our thoughts and prayers are especially with his family. Mark is a cherished part of our family as well.”

A company spokesperson says Potter was both a flight paramedic and an external base lead at the Meigs County base. He worked for MedFlight for almost two years.

Other agencies are paying respects as well:

"Today, Meigs County EMS is mourning the loss of a wonderful and very talented clinician and partner," Meigs County EMS wrote on Facebook. "Mark is a paramedic at Meigs County's MedFlight 3 base that our team members love and respect. Please keep his family, both personal and professional, in your thoughts and prayers."
