4 women arrested on drug charges in Kenova

KENOVA, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Four women, including two from Detroit, were arrested Wednesday on drug charges, the Kenova Police Department reports.

Officers say it happened after two traffic stops – one in the 1300 block of Poplar Street and the other in the 900 block of Oak Street.

Police say the women were arrested after officers received a tip about a drug transaction that would happen at a convenience store in Kenova.

Officer seized two vehicles, cash, marijuana, and heroin.

Malasia Mason and Nyquavia Heard, both of Detroit, were charged with delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy.

Carla Wright and Lisa Wright, a mother and her daughter from Huntington, were both charged with delivery of a controlled substance, conspiracy, as well as a separate charge of possession of a controlled substance.

All of the women were taken to the Western Regional Jail.

Police say more charges are pending. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Kenova Police at 304-453-1281.
