UPDATE: NWS confirms tornado in Vinton County

VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado in near McArthur Saturday evening.

The NWS says it was an EF-1 tornado, with 105 mph winds. It touched down five miles north northwest of McArthur.

The touchdown was brief.

Vinton County EMA tells WSAZ a few trees were knocked down.

There were no reports of serious damage or injuries.

VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A possible tornado touched down near McArthur Saturday evening.

The touchdown was in a remote area just northwest of McArthur. Viewers sent in video of the possible tornado.

The touchdown was brief.

Vinton County EMA tells WSAZ a few trees were knocked down.

There were no reports of serious damage or injuries.

The National Weather Service will investigate.
