An American Airlines flight headed to Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio made an emergency landing Tuesday afternoon at Yeager Airport, according to airport officials.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday after the Bombardier CRJ200 jet sustained a cracked windshield. Flight 5627 was en route to Akron-Canton Airport from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina.

The jet, which had 49 passengers and three crew member on board, landed without incident.

“The flight has landed safely, and there were no service interruptions to regularly scheduled flights," Airport Director Terry Sayre said.

Airport officials say American Airlines likely would provide a new aircraft to take passengers to Akron-Canton Airport.
