Ashland police warn about business scammers going door-to-door
Police are warning residents about two men going door-to-door, posing as employees of a communications company.
Ashland police say it happened in the area of Gla-Low apartments. Officers say the men are posing as Windstream employees, attempting to sell Windstream services.
The men were asking for personal information including birth dates and Social Security numbers.
Police say the men were wearing fake name tags and driving a black 2010 Ford Explorer. Windstream officials tell police the men are not company employees.
Officers advise residents not to give out any personal information to anyone in doubt.
A homemade flyer the men were passing out is included with this story.
