UPDATE | Name released of woman hit and killed while walking in road

A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning near Cedar Grove.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 5/17/19 @ 12:03 p.m.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning.

Lisa Buckley, 41, of Cedar Grove, died according to deputies.

It happened just after 5 a.m. along Kelly's Creek Road near Cedar Grove. Investigators say Buckley and another person were walking in the road when she was hit. The other person was not hit.

Deputies tell WSAZ a pickup truck driver was heading toward Cedar Grove when he hit Buckley. As of right now, charges have not been filed.

The pickup driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with deputies.

"The driver was not under suspicion of being DUI, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol," said Sgt. B. D. Humphreys. "They did test for that out of abundance of caution, but there was no evidence to support that whatsoever."

A woman was hit and killed in Kanawha County early Friday morning.

Sgt. Brian Humphries of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office says the victim was in the road when she was hit.

The incident happened about 5 a.m. along Kelly's Creek Road.

Deputies say the driver was on his way to work when it happened. As of now, no charges will be filed.

"The driver was not under suspicion of being DUI, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol," said Sgt. B. D. Humphreys. "They did test for that out of abundance of caution, but there was no evidence to support that whatsoever. He remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators."

Sgt. Humphries said the rain did hamper the investigation.

The road was closed until about 7:45 a.m.

A woman has died after being hit by a car.

It happened on Kelly's Creek Road in Kanawha County near Cedar Grove, about 5 Friday morning.

Police tell us a woman was killed when she was hit by a pickup truck.

Kelly's Creek Road re-opened a little before 7:45 Friday morning.

No other details have been released.
