UPDATE: Person in serious condition after boating accident in St. Albans

UPDATE 7/18/16 @ 10:50 a.m.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The man found trapped underneath a boat along the Kanawha River in St. Albans remains in serious condition.

Investigators say the boat hit a barge near the Lou Wendell Marine Sales late Saturday night.

Sgt. Jerry Payne with Division of Natural Resources tells WSAZ search crews later found James Inghram, 47, trapped underneath it

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the boat to hit the barge.

Inghram was the only person on the boat when the accident happened.

The barge was moved on Sunday.

ST. ALBANS, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Metro 911 confirms wtih WSAZ that the missing person, from a boating accident, was found in the Kanawha River.

They say the person was taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries after search crews found that person trapped underneath a boat.

Metro 911 says the incident happened near Lou Wendell Marine Sales, along the Kanawha River, when a boat crashed into a barge Saturday night.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Crews are on scene of a water rescue Saturday night.

According to Metro 911, a boat crashed into a barge.

It happened in St. Albans on the 400 block of 1st Avenue.

One person is trapped underneath the boat.

We have a crew on the way to the scene.
