SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 4/29/19 @ 9:30 p.m.
The name of a woman whose body was found Friday in Rarden has been released.

Danielle E. Campbell, 27, of Otway, is identified as the victim, according to the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.

Campbell's body was found alongside Rarden Creek Road, about a mile from state Route 73. Investigators say her death does not appear to be a homicide.

Detectives are investigating how the body ended up where it did, and the question of whether it was dumped there remains unanswered.

Neighbors say it's bizarre that a body was found along that road.

"It's about a mile from town, and you never see anyone walking on this road," neighbor Harold Alexander said. "It's awfully unusual. I'm 85, and I've never seen anything like it or heard tell of it around here."

Ben Lawson lives about a mile up the road where the body was found.

"It's very rural back there," Lawson said. "There are hardly any houses. It's very unusual. I don't think she was from that way."

The body was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kirk Jackson at 740-351-1093. You can remain anonymous.
