Car catches fire on I-64; one injured

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person was injured in a crash along Interstate 64 west late Sunday night.

Cabell County 911 dispatch says the crash happened around 11:40 p.m. Sunday near mile marker 10.

Crews at the scene say the car hit a pole that supports a road sign, then came to rest in the median. The car then caught fire and was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

One person was ejected in the crash and rushed to the hospital. There is no further information about their injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
