UPDATE: WVSP releases name of trooper injured in fiery crash

West Virginia State Police released the name of a trooper who is in the hospital after a crash Tuesday morning.
Senior Trooper Brian C. McCormick, 30, works for the Mason County WVSP detachment.
The accident happened Tuesday morning around 3:40 a.m. along Route 2 in Ashton. McCormick's cruiser went off the road and hit a tree.
Troopers tell WSAZ that someone was driving by and saw the cruiser on fire and was able to pull the trooper out of the cruiser to safety.
There is no word on the trooper's condition at this time.
