Carter County man arrested on sexual abuse charges

GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) -- More than a year after his initial arrest, a Carter County man is faces more charges as part of an ongoing investigation.

Kentucky State Police say a recent Carter County grand jury charged Timothy "Fig" Carper, 49, of Grayson with three counts of 1st degree Sexual Abuse.

The alleged charges happened that involved a female happened between September 2010 and September 2012,according to the indictment.

In May 2015, Carper was charged in Carter County with harassing communications of an 18-year-old student at Paul Blazer High School in Ashland.

At the time of the arrest, KSP said Carper had made inappropriate and unwanted contact with the teen on social media sites and through text messages.

KSP says new evidence and testimony against Carper was presented to a Carter County Grand Jury in July.

KSP says there are different alleged victims in each case.

Carper was arrested on August 5 and taken to the Carter County Detention Center.
