UPDATE: Charleston vacant house damaged after fire

Firefighers say the home damaged in a Thursday morning fire was vacant and boarded up.

The fire started just after 11 a.m. on Thursday at a home on Barton Street at Washington Street West.

Charleston firefighters say people were able to get in the back of the boarded up home.

No word on what started the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Emergency crews are on the scene of a house fire on the West Side of Charleston.

The fire started just after 11 a.m. on Thursday at a home on Barton Street at Washington Street West.

The Charleston Fire Department is on scene of the fire.

There is no word on how the fire started or if there are any injuries.
