Charleston officer shot in burglary recognized for bravery
A Charleston Police officer who was shot in the line of duty was recognized for his bravery Tuesday afternoon.
Patrolman E. Seth Johnson received the Point Blank National SAVES Recognition Award.
Back in November 2017, Ptl. Johnson was responding to a burglary on Albert Street when the suspect shot him.
Luckily he was hit in the front upper torso which was protected by his Point Blank bullet proof vest.
Ptl. Johnson was able to get up and return fire on the suspect.
He's been with the Charleston Police Department for three years. Before that he served with Ripley Police.
