BLAINE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A mom from Blaine, Kentucky is facing criminal charges after allegedly passing out behind the wheel with her two young children in the vehicle.
Lacy Crothers, 31, of Blaine, was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol, possession of methamphetamine, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
According to the arrest citation, Crothers was found passed out in the driver's seat of her vehicle in a church parking lot along Cain's Creek Road. Investigators say the engine was running.
A deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office beat on the window several times and had to wake Crothers up by opening her door.
Crother's kids, a 4-year-old and 7-year-old, were in the vehicle, according to the citation. The Lawrence County constable says the children were lying on the floorboard.
Deputies say Crothers was off balance and had slurred speech. They also found a white crystal substance in her purse. Investigators sent the substance to a lab for testing.
Crothers was booked at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center just after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. She is no longer listed on the jail's website.
