UPDATE: Two people taken to the hospital after crash on I-79

ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 11/12/18 @ 7:10 a.m.
A two-car crash has slowed down the morning rush on I-79.

West Virginia State Police say two cars were involved.

The crash happened between the Amma and Wallback exits in Roane County.

Two people have been taken to the hospital. There is no update on their conditions.

One lane of I-79 is open in each direction.

A major crash is shutting down both the north and southbound lanes of I-79.

The crash is close to the Amma exit in Roane County.

It happened early Monday morning.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and find another way around.

There is no word on how many people have been hurt.
