UPDATE | Victim's name released in deadly house fire

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) — UPDATE 10/8/19 @ 9:20 a.m.
The name of the person killed in a fire has been released.

Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond tells WSAZ Carolyn Zimmerman, 58, of Ashland, died in the fire.

It happened Saturday evening in the 1900-block Central Avenue.

A cause of the fire has not been released.

One person has died in a house fire in Ashland Saturday evening.

Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond tells WSAZ his office was called to a fire on the 1900 block of Central Avenue.

The identity of the person has not been released yet.

Crews were on scene most of the evening into early Sunday investigating a cause, which has not been determined.

Central Avenue was still shut down for several blocks around the scene as of 12:30 Sunday morning.

Crews are on scene of a house fire in Ashland Saturday night.

Dispatchers confirm the fire is in the 1900 block of Central Avenue in Ashland. The road in this area is shut down.

There is no word yet on injuries.
