Crews battle hotel fire for several hours in McDowell County, W.Va.

McDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va (WSAZ) -- According to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office, crews are battling are large fire in McDowell County.

It is happening in the town of War. Crews have been fighting the fire since about 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to Jason Baltic with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal's office, the War Hotel continues to burn. It is not occupied.

The fire has also burned an apartment building that has six units. The apartment building has significant damage and may be a total loss.

No one has been injured in the fire.

West Virginia State Fire Marshals are on scene.

There is no current word on the cause of the fire or if it is believed to be suspicious.
