UPDATE: Fire destroys family's home in Kanawha County

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – UPDATE 2/11/19 @ 9:45 p.m.
A family was not home Monday evening when their home was destroyed by fire.

According to the East Bank Fire Department, the call came out around 5:30 p.m. for the fire in the 100 block of Surface Street.

The family had five dogs. Fire crews say that unfortunately some of them died in the fire.

The home is considered a total loss. At this time a cause is unknown.

Crews responded Monday evening to a house fire in the East Bank area, Metro 911 dispatchers say.

It was reported around 5:50 p.m. in the 100 block of Surface Street.

There’s no report of anyone hurt at this time.
