KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 4/30/19 @ 11:59 p.m.
A man wanted by West Virginia State Police Troopers since the beginning of March was found hiding in a hollowed out chest-of-drawers Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers received a tip that Brian Castle was at a home in South Charleston.

The trooper asked Castle, who is wanted in connection to several thefts, to come out of the chest-of-drawers but he refused. When the trooper started sliding the furniture away from the wall they say Castle punched the Trooper.

According to the criminal complaint, the Trooper pushed over the dresser, and the debris from the dresser and the items on its top landed on Castle who was on his back. Castle then fought with the trooper kicking his hand and spitting at him. After a struggle between the pair, the trooper was able to gain control and get Castle into handcuffs.

Castle was wanted in connection to several felony charges including obtaining under false pretenses and two charges of grand larceny.

Investigators say Castle has been on a theft spree in Putnam and Kanawha Counties for more than a month.
