Cross Lanes walk raises breast cancer awareness
CROSS LANES, W. Va (WSAZ) -- It's been one year since Mary Fletcher was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the beginning of May, doctors told Fletcher she was cancer free.
"I don't think I could have survived this without my friends and my family," Fletcher said.
Sunday, she spent her afternoon giving back to the people who helped her take her mind off her diagnosis during her treatment.
Mary joined friends and family at Cross Lanes Elementary School to walk in support of CAMC's Cancer Center Boutique.
"When you're really feeling low and down you want to look nice. And if nothing else you get your fingernails done. And it feels good. You always come out of there smiling," Fletcher said.
