UPDATE: 3 family members killed in Christmas Eve crash

A family is mourning the loss of three loved ones killed in a crash on Christmas Eve.

On Monday, investigators say Edwina "Lynn" Wilson, 49, Brenda Charles, 66, and Sarah Wilson, 12 were killed after their vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer U.S. 23 in Louisa.

The crash happened near the AEP plant.

Wayne Williamson says his family is devastated by the loss.

"To lose one family member is hard but to lose three at one time," Williamson said. "We woke up Monday morning not knowing that Monday night we was going to be so heartbroken."

Williamson says the three were on their way to a Christmas Eve dinner at a family member's house when the crash happened.

Williamson describes his 12-year-old cousin, Sarah, as a sweetheart.

"She just started life," Williamson said.

Sarah was in 6th grade at Louisa Middle School.

Williamson says his cousin, Lynn, was like a sister.

"She carried a smile on her face all the time," Williamson said.

He says his aunt, Brenda, was a second mother to him and helped raise him as a child.

"I'm a firm believer that God has a plan," Williamson said.

All services will be held at Louisa Church of God.

Visitation for the public will be held Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 11 a.m.


The victims names have been released in the deadly crash that took 3 people's lives on Christmas Eve.

UPDATE 12/24/18 @ 6:05 p.m.

A crash involving a semi has left 3 people dead Monday.

2 adults and a child were killed in Louisa after their vehicle collided with a semi truck.

The crash happened around 3:00 p.m. in front of the AEP power plant.

State Police say the vehicle tried to make a left hand turn when a semi struck it.

No charges have been filed.

Investigators say all 3 had seat belts on.

No names have been released at this time.

One lane in both directions on U.S. 23 are back open following a crash fatal crash.

The crash happened in Louisa.

Officials have not released the name of the deceased at this time.

A fatal accident has closed a portion of U.S. 23.

The accident happened in front of the AEP power plant in Louisa.

Both directions of the roadway are closed Monday afternoon.

Officials are advising drivers to use U.S. 52 until the accident has been cleared.
