KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Deputies responded to a shooting and stabbing Friday morning between a father and son.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, a domestic violence incident happened on Eden's Fork Road near Charleston. Names have not been released.
The sheriff tells WSAZ the 21-year-old son stays at the home occasionally. While the sheriff says it appears the son was not welcome at the home at the time of the incident, he says the nature of their relationship is still unclear because it is still early in the investigation.
Just after 7 a.m. Friday, the son came to the house and allegedly attacked his dad.
During the fight, investigators say the son attacked the dad with a knife. Deputies say there was a struggle and then the father shot his son.
Both men were taken to the hospital. They are in serious condition according to deputies.
Deputies are in the process of getting search warrants and conducting interviews. As of Friday morning, charges have not been filed yet.
There's also no word on a motive.
