UPDATE | Suspect in multi-county police chase faces more charges
More charges have been filed against a man who led police on a multi-county chase Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Alex Nathaniel Foster, 25, of Milton, was charged with four counts of felony destruction of property and one count felony fleeing with reckless indifference to others, according to Putnam County Prosecutor Mark Sorsaia. He said another charge is expected Thursday regarding a fifth car that was struck.
Investigators say Foster, who was on parole, took off in a car from the Huntington Mall when he was spotted by parole officers. Foster eventually got away from parole officers and got into a pickup truck at his grandfather's home in Milton. He got on Interstate 64 and sped east toward Kanawha County, hitting multiple vehicles on the way.
The pursuit ended in a crash near the toll bridge in Dunbar. Two victims had to be cut out of a vehicle at that location.
Sorsaia said bond has been set at $100,000 cash only on the latest charges. Foster faces separate charges in Cabell County.
Investigators say there was a child in Foster's car before he switched over to the pickup truck.

West Virginia State Police say Foster had his young child in the vehicle with him. Parole officers say they identified themselves to Foster, who took off in the vehicle with the child inside, hitting one of the officer's car.
Foster drove east on U.S. 60 toward Milton, where parole officers lost sight of him.
Troopers say Foster then went to his grandfather's house on Newman's Branch Rd. in Milton, grabbed the keys to a pickup and left. The child was left in the car and found by his grandmother.
The grandfather says he tried to stop Foster from stealing the pickup, but Foster took off.
Dispatchers say after Foster switched vehicles, he got on I-64 eastbound headed toward Kanawha County.
Our crew at the scene said the suspect, who was driving a pickup truck, got off at the Dunbar exit and went down 10th Street.
Investigators say Foster may have hit up to five vehicles during the chase. Putnam County Prosecutor Mark Sorsaia tells WSAZ there is evidence to indicate the suspect may have rammed into vehicles intentionally.
The pursuit ended with a crash near the toll bridge in Dunbar. Two people had to be cut out of a vehicle by firefighters because of the damage.
Milton Police, who also assisted in the chase, referred to Foster as a "maniac." They say he faces charges in all three counties involved in the chase.
We're told Foster even tried to steal someone's car after crashing in Dunbar, but was arrested during the attempted carjacking. According to Milton Police, the victim in the attempted carjacking was an elderly driver.
"Prayers for those injured by this maniac as he fled apprehension," Milton Police said in a release.
Foster is being held on a $55,000 cash-only bond. His preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. April 23.
Foster is charged with grand larceny, child neglect, obstruction, and assault on a police officer in Cabell County. He faces charges in Putnam County and Kanawha County.

The pursuit started in Cabell County, continued along I-64, and ended in Dunbar.
Metro 911 dispatchers say the Dunbar Toll Bridge is shut down "due to a crash and police emergency."
Dispatchers are asking drivers to avoid the surrounding area.

They are being treated at this time. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Dispatchers in Cabell County say the suspect was spotted in the Barboursville area. They say he's a parolee who rammed a federal parole vehicle. He was originally in an SUV and switched vehicles in Milton and sped toward I-64.
That man is in custody, but we don't know his name at this time.
