EMS makes way through snow to transport

While drivers were encouraged to stay off the road during the weekend blizzard, Cabell County EMS did not have an option. To make it to people in need stranded by the heavy snow, first responders made a way through the drifts in Humvees.

Starting when the snow began on Friday morning, EMS responders revved up the military grade vehicles to go where standard ambulances could not.

EMS crews also transported nurses to and from the hospital.
